Writing a formal letter in French
Under various circumstances, you will need to
write a formal letter in French, I have always found that a good source for such
letters is

I was told by a French civil service friend,
that the French civil service are not obliged to respond to the first letter
they receive, so if there is a delay, send off a second letter. Remember that
all letters of an official nature in France, should always be sent "accuse de
reception" or registered post.
Even if you deliver a letter by hand, that
is no PROOF that it was received. I have frequently seen letters being
sent through the post by recorded delivery, even though the letter is going from
one building into the adjoining building. |
